Sometimes we  act as if something is wrong with how we feel. With bipolar disorder this is often the case. Bipolar disorder involves episodes of mood swings ranging from depressive lows to manic highs.  The depressive lows are often hated, and there is a feeling of a lack of motivation and low energy.  This state does change though. It morphs into something different: a period of high energy with a period of work and creativity. Sometimes this changes into a full manic episode in which the person loses touch with reality. At this point the person if often needing psychiatric medication to help. The goal is to stay in the middle ground: not too high and not too low emotionally.
